However, it works better for me to get a broader perspective that honors each individual as completely unique while also honoring that each person manifests their uniqueness as part of an interrelated whole. One way to function as a united organism is to express challenges immediately when they come up. Another is through regular meetings.
Regularly scheduled meetings:
Sometimes, there is too much happening in the field to work through challenges when they come up. That's why I think its very helpful to have regularly scheduled meetings. In the heat of the moment, I try to make a note of issues I want to address during meetings. I think meeting time is best for expressing feelings that come up while in the field, deciding how to work together, making commitments to tasks and roles, being publicly accountable for past commitments, renegotiating commitments, redefining roles and providing honest feedback. Once roles and tasks are clearly defined, its also easier to plug in new people.
